Can you make Ikea kitchens handleless?

Apologies for my eleventymillionth tiresome kitchen thread, but can you make them handleless? I am working with their annoying design app and think I have solved the handlelessness (is that a word) on the cupboards, but not on the doors. Is it the same fitting?

Any help much appreciated as I don't want to go back and forwards to ikea a hundred times (although I know that will be inevitable).

I just didn't attach handles onto mine! And put push openers on the insides of all drawers and doors. Bingo!

Oh thank you, that's the info I needed, that you can put the push openers on drawers. I think I am definitely going for that.

They do a handleless one. Was called nodsta but has recently changed to voxtorp.

How did I miss that? It's not in the brochure. I will take a look. Thanks

You can get the electric openers too :-)

The only issue with putting the push openers is that the soft close doesn't soft close. But I didn't mind that. All my internal drawers are soft close in any case.

Their handleless one is really nice too. Good luck!

I can't understand why voxtorp isn't in the brochures or mentioned in the door choices, you have to search for it.

Very indecisive now as I was going to have white gloss (which I was getting concerned was too much of a cliche or just need cleaning a lot with my sticky fingered little ones), but the Voxtorp is a Matt White. Perhaps that's better.

I've been looking too, the Voxtorp seems to come in glossy beige? It's hard to find it, I wonder why?

I am just concerned they are discontinuing it, but if it's changed names and fits method, they can't be.

Voxtorp has only been out a week or so. It is def available to order now and in last couple of days has appeared on their 3D planner.I know this as I was all set to buy their old nodsta handleless kitchen a month ago only to be told it was discontinued. Crisis! So have been stalking the arrival of voxtorp like a loon. I understand it comes in matt white, a wood veneer and one other finish.

In case anyone is interested - this company do custom doors and panels for Ikea kitchen frames - I'm definitely using for my next house (currently looking for a big renovation project) as I think quality of Ikea build is great but I'd really like more flexiblity on the door fronts. They do some nice ones that aren't so much handleless as have inbuilt handles.

DO they ship to the UK though Dynevoran?

ixos, thank you so much, you truly are a Voxtorp geek and its much appreciated.

I am going to go for it (particularly now its on the planner and I don't have to sort it all out manually) as I have to order it this week.

I had ikea stuff fitted in my new utility last week (bodrun in cream, I think its called) and it is such lovely quality.

I have been wondering that about white gloss being a bit 'done', so I bow to mumsnet's greater knowledge and will stick with the matt.

oh and it looks like its available to deliver from the website. Decision made!

I cant tell you how many weeks of dithering about this kitchen I have done while DH mutters in the background "its white, what more do you need to think about"

Lambzig I'm glad you've made your decision and are happy. Talk about it as much as you want on here - we are your people! Grin

When I did my last kitchen DP would make such comments or just say "I don't care" until I would push him for e.g. how many drawers of different depths and baskets to put in a larder cupboard and he would instead come out with some unrelated off the wall suggestion like "maybe we should have frosted glass door on that cupboard". I suspect he did this to avoid additional input.

Mandy214 I hope they do! If not I'll have to arrange shipping through a different company I guess.

I couldn't find anything on their website to say they did. I looked into this a while ago, I found an american company but they didn't ship to the UK either.

Given its only Sweden rather than transatlantic there must be a shipping company you can use to get it over to the UK. We have family in Nigeria and ship things out there relatively frequently and Sweden is a stone's throw compared to west Africa.

I love them so much it will be worth the pain! The green one is amazing!

There is another company called superfront who do ship from Sweden to UK definitely but quality and variety doesn't look as good.

I thought Superfront only shipped their handles, not the doors?
