They have gone bust and restarted again as the above named companies.

I checked them out before using them and they even had a glowing reference on this site.

They have left us with huge amount of damage after removing the offending shutters which were of such a bad standard that Trading Standards were shocked when they saw the photographs.

They have chopped ends off of our window board, chiseled chunks out of out skirting and left us with huge holes drilled into our window frames as well as one in our granite windowsill with a raw plug sticking out.

Have attached some of the photographs for you to see the standard of the work and what we have been left with.

Would you mind elaborating on why they needed to be removed feeling scared

Appalling job. Drilled into our UPVC frames. Cut of window boards and skirting rather than scribing round them. No joints were straight or even. Shutters stopped inch above floor. Bars through doors shutters didn't line up with bars through window shutters.

Masticed joints but mastic just dropped through looking like someone had squeezed tube of Colgate through joints.

Loads of drill holes visible from outside. No corner posts in bays so shutter frames took up lots of glass from outside.

It was a bodge job from start to finish. Arrogant little shit even turned up an hour late to remove the shutters.

Do not sign their form upon completion which they pressure you to do and pay outstanding amount by cheque if you have to pay it upon completion so you can cancel it if not happy.

We had 2 companies come to look at them and they said had never seen such an awful job.

They say they make the shutters and they excellent quality, better than other companies but they are bought in from China.

No, we'll get nothing. Was going to take them to small claims court but they have shut down and opened up under another name. I don't think they would have done this if we were their only pissed customers so please be careful. Pay by cheque, do not let them cut into your skirting (they should scribe round it) and do not let them drill into your window casing (they shouldn't have to according to the fitters I have spoken to).

Good luck.

I'd refuse to pay balance before they leave and say you'll put cheque in post too. Let's yu live with them for a couple of days to make sure there aren't any niggles. Signing the form they give yu immediately after is a no no.

Ok hopefully should not be anywhere near skirting as I'm a box bay with a ledge and wooden window I'll just have to supervise them carefully and I will not pay the balance until at least a week after just to make sure

Really appreciate your warning thanks and hope it gets sorted

Just a thought how did you pay? By credit card? Or even debit as you could explain all to your bank who might be able to do a charge back?

Debit card for 50% before fitting then cheque for the balance upon completion. We cancelled the cheque as soon as it got light and we say the hash they had made and demanded that they remove shutters and refund rest of money, which they did.

Tried to take to small claims to get money for repairing all that they damaged but they have gone bust and started up again so am stuffed!!

They even offered to fill all the holes in the walls with a mastic gun for us once they had removed the shutters. Had no idea that this was a stupid idea even.
