Patio options

We're having our house renovated and I need to quickly make a decision about what we're going to use for our patio.
Has anyone used terracotta tiles? Would you recommend them? Other suggestions have been riven limestone in grey, or I've looked at concrete imprinted with a design. I love the idea of a geometric pattern to the patio so I'd thought about hexagonal terracotta tiles, but no idea if it would be a good option. Any advice?

Also - has anyone used porcelain tiles like these:

Seems like a nice idea but feels like it could be slippery...
