Me too!! Should hear today; are you packed?? We've barely started, but been given a provisional completion date of the 23rd, so will really need to get cracking this weekend.

No! We've packed one suitcase Hmm

I don't think we're quite as close as you are though. We're still waiting for local search to come back. That's the last thing to be done though so hoping it won't be too much longer after that.

Our exchange didn't happen after all today, so now we're in limbo waiting to see if it will happen Monday; a problem further up the chain has just come to light, just hoping it will be resolved easily!

We're going to have to pack this weekend though, just worried that if we pack and it's held up we're going to end up living out of boxes for ages.

Another one here waiting to exchange.

This is the first house we've bought properly - we bought our current house off a relative and it was very straightforward. The house we are now buying has been such a long drawn-out process! We first viewed it at the end of September, our house wasn't even on the market (we weren't actually thinking of moving but saw new house in local paper and fell in love). Due to not having sold our house we struggled to get a mortgage and the new house was already under offer by the time we got our finances sorted. Luckily the people who had offered were rather flakey and the vendor got cold feet - hence we managed to swoop in and our offer was accepted at the end of November Grin

It really is our dream house and until we exchange then I can't really accept that it will be ours. We still haven't got our current house on the market - I've been decorating non stop since we viewed the new house and we're waiting on planning permission to come through to make an adjustment to the outside before we can put it up for sale. Hopefully though it should be ready to market within the next 6-8 weeks. Just hope it sells quickly!

Vendor has only just had an offer accepted on the property he will be moving to and wants to stay where he is until he can move so can't see us completing until 6 weeks time or so. Our solicitors are still waiting for a plan showing the septic tank position to come from the vendor's solicitors before we can hope to exchange.

Just so frustrating...the children are so excited about moving and I spend hours a day just gazing at the new house on rightmove!

I know that feeling, I know the right move photos off by heart!

I have days where I get really excited and then other days where I'm terrified it's all going to fall through, they're not joking when they say it's one of life's most stressful events!

Hopefully all our moves will go smoothly. . .

Me! We're 1st time buyers moving into a great catchment for DS (nearly 3) and DD (5 months). we've just received our draft contract. TBH I'm not entirely convinced we're making the right decision house wise because our initial purchase fell through last year before the mortgage market review and then the banks cut the amount we could borrow by 50k so we've ended up buying a much smaller place. It's pretty and in a great location for schools, park, transport links etc, but current sellers are moving because it's too small for them and their 2 kids (it's a 2 bed). But I also know how lucky we are to be buying at all, and monthly payments are less than our rent.

Talking myself round in circles!!

We are hoping to exchange contracts next week, it's been an absolute nightmare and I've no idea how it's going to end.

Our buyers are due a baby very soon and have pretty much said they complete on 23rd or they are pulling out (she's having elective cs on 26th) The owners of the house we are buying are moving into rented but can't move until 30th as house not ready.

So at the moment we are all exchanging on the same day but we move out of ours on 23rd and stay with my parents for a week then into the next house on 30th. Luckily we've already got most of our stuff in storage.

I'm filled with dread and fear that the vendors of the house we are purchasing start delaying and messing us about and we end up homeless.

Argh.
