Which Built In Double Oven

I'm in the process of building a new kitchen (my architect has had bad accident so I've had to move my timescale back to Easter, I still have my old kitchen so I'm not that pushed!)

At the moment I'm researching White Goods which I hope to buy in the New Year Sales. At this point in time I am minded to buy a Neff T40B30X2 Induction Hob.

I was also looking at buying a Neff U15M52N3GB double oven, (seen prices at around £700) to keep a bit of continuity with the hob, and when I looked at the Which? Online web site I found that they had given the oven a score of 77%, this score put it into their best buy category.

At the same time, however, of the 14 members who submitted reviews just 4 members scored it 5 out of 5; while 8 give it a score of 1 or 2, out of 5 (4 rated it as 1 out of 5) and I must say those reviews have put me off somewhat!

I’m also looking at the Bosch HBM56B551B but at prices ranges from around £900 and up I really would have to do some serious research to justify that outlay.

At the moment while I’m somewhat cautious of the Neff offering I'll keep it, and the Bosch, on the list of possibles for a little longer

Anyone care to share their oven purchases and experiences?

Any special reason - Price - Looks - Loyality - Had one is the past?

How long have you had your Neff and would you know the model number? I would like to buy the Neff U15M52N3GB double oven but as I said in my OP I'm put off by the bad user reviews on the Which? website.

I could post a few if people would like that.

I've had two Neffs. My mother has had one. My current Neff is 15 years old and as good as new. Same for DM's.
I don't know what model it is, but I've seen a few people with similar ovens.

It's simple to use, stylish and reliable.

I have the bosch - it is fantastic - heats really evenly and my cakes come out really well - think I paid around £800 3 years ago and would buy again

We're getting Neff. We want an oven and a oven/microwave. Have you looked at those? We're putting them together rather than buying an actual double oven, mix and matching. Oh and a warming drawer.

I have two Neff wall ovens - a combination one and a standard oven - and they are fabulous! I love, love, love them.

Theorientcalf, tell me more. Is the oven and micro combined. If it is not to cheeky of a question how much did it set you back?

theorient I would also be interested in details of the oven/micro combo thingy if you don't mind. I'm thinking along these lines myself as double oven plus built in micro take a up would be too much for one unit.

We haven't got our quote yet so I can't tell you prices. But neff do an oven/microwave and a microwave/oven. From what I can gather the oven/microwave you can use both at the same time! So you can microwave something you might do normally like a baked potato but also cook it in the oven to crisp it at the same time, and it takes minimal time. And then you don't have a microwave filling space on your work top too.

As a matter of interest, can anyone tell me if you are buying goods like above and the retailer is offering say 24 months free credit does he gain from that; for example does he get commission from the credit company, OR is it just a way to encourage people to buy.

The reason I'm asking was I was wondering whether or not you can haggle more by taking the credit option, even though you do pay it off immediately, i.e. next day or following week, or will you always get a better deal with cash.

Many thanks for your replies to date. It is make your mind up time so once the sales start I’ll be checking some local stores that come highly recommended and are pretty keen on price. I’ll also be contacting the like of John Lewis and visiting my local Currys.

Here is what I’ve decided on.

Neff U15M52N3GB double built-in oven
Neff T40B30X2 induction hob
Panasonic NN-CT552W combination microwave
I’m also in the market for a television like the Samsung UE40H6400 but I haven’t decided yet on make or brand

I had a Neff single built in oven and a Neff combination oven/microwave fitted above.
Have to say it does work very well although it is taking us a while to work out all the different functions. I wanted a combination microwave built in as I hade having a microwave on the worktop and needed to have as much free worktop as possible.
We have used the microwave as both a microwave and conventional oven and both work well although you do have to remember that the door opens downwards like a normal oven door, this can make it a little awkward to reach into if you are short.

An update and your opinion please.

In a previous post I said I was going to go for the Panasonic NN-CT552W combination microwave but my architect has suggested I go for an ordinary intergrated stainless steel micro to keep in style with the rest of the kitchen, I agree and rather than move my old fridge/freezer from the old to the new kitchen I've decided to opt for an intergrated F/F, the old one has given good service over the years and now is probably the right time to retire him!

Here's my delima, I have a perfectly good Hotpoint dishwasher in my old kitchen; white fronted, freestanding. To buy a new intergrated one will cost in the region of £350 - £500 and in my own mind I find it difficult to justify, at the same time I do see the reasoning of having a seamless look.

A silly question I know but can you replace the front of an older dishwasher and turn it into a semi-intergrated dishwasher? If this was your call what would you do: buy or make do?
