Help! Need to replace a kichen cupboard door asap!

Due to an unfortunate comedy incident involving oil and a stool, I need to replace one kitchen cupboard door in our rented house before we leave. (preferably without letting LL know!)

Can't find a match to order direct, could I get just one made? I think it's an older kitchen style, but its not solid wood, so was probably quite a cheap "off the shelf" type door.
Disclaimer I know nothing about styles of kitchen but a quick glance at B&Q website tells me they are probably quite out of date!

I would really like to avoid having to pay to replace all the units (which I suspect is what the LL will want to do)

Any ideas? All advice gratefully received!

Have you tried ebay or gumtree maybe? Some people sell old doors on there, you may get lucky

Contact some of the companies who replace kitchen cupboard doors - they can match most things up, even if they are not shown on their website. Take the measurements of the door required and a photo of one of the other doors which you can email. If you can work out which retailer the kitchen came from, good kitchen suppliers know who the manufacturers are.

Your LL cannot, on the basis one kitchen cupboard door is damaged, seek to extract your whole deposit to pay towards a new kitchen! As a LL I've just had to deal with some damage to a kitchen by a tenant - I would much rather they had told me about it at the time, enabling me to deal with things as I would have wanted rather than some of the bodging I found after they moved out.

Greencheese Have checked ebay, so far no luck, but forgot about Gumtree will have a look.

wowfudge thanks I will get on that and see if I can get some quotes, was worried they wouldn't be interested in making one door!
Definitely no bodge jobs here, Dad's an ex-carpenter, DP is a heating engineer and I am very good at DIY!

I do actually like our LL and wouldn't want to leave the house in a crap state for them, but was a bit concerned about the possibility of taking deposit to pay to replace all the doors, so you have reassured me there! Smile

Thanks for replies

Can you upload a pic of the door - as it might be recognisable ?!

Without seeing the damage it is difficult to say but if the hinges and where they are fitted is damaged, one may be able to relocate them and refit the door.
