Extension work due to start when 4 months pregnant

We currently have plans with the Council for a 18sqm kitchen extension and will be gutting and replacing our dated kitchen at the same time. We are hoping the actual work will start in September - when I'll be 20+ weeks pregnant - and I'm a bit scared I'm going to go all 'pregnancy hormone' with the dust and the mess. The end result will totally be worth it especially with DC1 on the way. I just need some hand holding by folks who've gone through something similar.
