Accepted an offer - what next?

DH & I have FINALLY had an offer on our house, and we have accepted - yippee! Neither of us have been through this process before, and now have no idea of what happens next. We know we have to appoint a solicitor, and have been looking online at some lovely houses. But are we now ok to look and make offers ourselves? Or do we have to wait a while?

Feeling like a total dunce!

You should start now.

Nope- you are now free to go ahead, and make offers knowing that you have an offer on yours. Once you have made an offer, it is likely that sellers estate agent would verify with your estate agent that you do in fact have a buyer.

With regards to your sale, you know you have to instruct a solicitor and tell the agents which one. Also, get together any guarantees or details of electrical, central heating or other works you've carried out in more recent years.

Yes, you need to be out looking now. You are in a great position as you're sold subject to contract, so make an appointment to look at all possibilities in the next 2-3 days. That way, you'll rule out ones which aren't suitable and you can do a second viewing on your favourite(s).
