So do I. Imagine the parties.

There's a river in our village. I could moor it there and have gin fuelled flapper parties on the roof.

No mooring though - that's the expensive bit...

Remedial work is required to the hull and you have to provide your own mooring. Both could be expensive.

It the Balliol college (Oxford) barge. My college (Corpus Christi) also had one. A student lived on it and had to maintain it as part of his rent.

Old boat maintenance makes old house maintenance seem almost a rational way to spend one's money. It is a hole in the water into which you will pour fifty pound notes.
Very, very beautiful though.

Fabulous. Another one, the old Jesus College barge, is now a restaurant -www.theboatatrichmondbridge.com/our-history/

Awks - we had a college tortoise as well.

You couldn't rent that but every year the undergraduates elected a tortoise keeper and they looked after it and in summer we had a tortoise fair and invited everyone in Oxford who had a tortoise to bring theirs. Many gentlemen tortoises met lady tortoises and many got lost in the shrubbery.

We also elected a Gardening Rep whose job it was to liaise with the college gardener.

I also notice one of the former students from my time is hoping to form the next Government. Grin

Yeah it's probably not very practical.

I've had old cars and vans which have depleted my bank account very quickly.

I love a bit of sleb gossip. I don't read any right wing news. I just want to know what Kim Kardashian and Baby Cowell are up to. Is that so wrong?
