We are moving into a cottage in a few weeks that needs modernising and I've been looking at pub/restaurants/shops and wondering if it is possible and cheaper to use contractors that usually work for commercial premises. The house we are in now was renovated by an interior designer but she works on commercial premises so a lot of the fixtures and fittings are not the usual residential stuff e.g lighting and units. I'm focusing on bathrooms and a large room that's going to be a playroom/nursery space for childminding.
