Living around Maidstone - Bearsted?

We are looking at moving to the Maidstone area. We have visited the village of Bearsted which looks nice and the local schools look good.

Could any locals tell me what it is like to live in Bearsted or the surrounding area in terms of community feel/anti-social behaviour etc. I also have a 3 year old and so will be looking at schools for 2014. What are the local schools like in terms of pastoral care/academic success etc.
