I have quote from plumber, price is the same for both (model is 28 whatever-it-is)

Dead boiler is 28-yr-old Vaillant, one of the original combis he said (he actually chuckled when he looked at it!) which has done us pretty well, so I am leaning towards that but otoh Worcester are British, aren't they? (despite the Bosch part)so maybe I should buy British...

Help!

vaillant have been a disaster for me. maybe i just got a lemon, but it's cost me £££ every year and last year i had a huge fight with them. when i booked the service this year they mysteriously had no record of the work they did last year Hmm

customer service was not good either.

i will never buy a vaillant again.

I had a Worcester and loved it. The plumber recommended a vaillant when we had an extension, but the controls are so complicated even the engineers struggle. I have to just use my room thermostat to regulate when it comes on and goes off. I miss my simple worcester control panel with the on/off, temperature up or down and simple clock.
