Clever shower screen ideas needed

I'm tearing my hair out trying to come up with the perfect solution for my shower bath. I don't really want a shower curtain, and I can't find a good alternative that will work. I had originally thought of the Outasight, but after reading a not too glowing review on my other thread, I'm looking at alternatives.

The bath runs along the side wall, which is the only place that it can fit. The problem is that the window partly overlaps the bath, meaning that I can't fit a screen at that end (or attach a curtain pole). It's not my bathroom, but there is a picture here that will give you an idea of what I mean.

I can put the shower at the other end, but if I put a screen there it will leave a very small gap between screen and sink cabinet (which is under the window, next to bath). I am also concerned that DS, who is 2 and boisterous, would love nothing more than to slam a swinging screen backwards and forwards. Bathtime is already a battle!

I've even thought about moving or changing the window, but with a screen next to the sink I don't think I'd be able to reach the taps without getting in the bath.

Do any of you have any ideas that won't cost the earth? Eternal gratitude will be yours Smile

I see yor dilema but dont quite understand what is stopping you having the shower at the other end of the bath.
Can you explain the issue with the cabinet again?

WOuld a folding screen at that end work?

Thanks for the link Pannacotta.

If I changed the window and fitted a screen at the window end of the bath, the screen couldn't open out because of the sink cabinet, so I couldn't reach the taps.

The sink cabinet is 47cm deep, which effectively blocks of that side of the bath. If I added a shower screen to the the other end there would be quite a small opening to access the bath between the screen and the sink. The screens that hinge like a door would be ideal, but my out of control toddler who would never leave it alone!

Are the folding screens any good? I worry that they would be more prone to leaks, although I have no experience of them. Also, are they toddler-friendly?

Sorry for all the daft questions - can you tell I have no idea what I'm doing? Grin

I would put the screen at the non window end and try to find sth which your toddler wont bash.
Either a good quality folding screen or sth long these lines which is part hinged

Why don't you want a shower curtain? I much prefer them; no continual cleaning of screens (just chuck in washing machine) and change the look of your bathroom very quickly and as often as you like without hassle.

You could have a shower curtain until your DS is old enough not to swing on a screen.
