interior design websites?

Hi, i'm looking for inspiration and a few basics for furnishing living room and dining room. Basic stuff like how to make the room appear larger (I remember something like the most oppressive item, eg bookcase, being on the wall by the door rather than opposite so it's not first thing you see when you go in etc). I know there are books about this but I don't have time for the library this weekend. I googled a bit but didn't get anything concise. (London's burning and I worry about what colour on my walls, but there you are :)

Thanks, I'll have a look at those. I used to love this kind of stuff but now that we are finally buying (fingers crossed etc) I haven't got the time or energy (or money!) for it all.
