Can you replace an integrated dishwasher and still use it for new kitchen in a years time?

We've recently moved. The existing integrated dishwasher doesn't work. Can we remove it and replace it and if we did could we use it again when we replace the kitchen in a year or twos time?

Is there anything we have to specifically consider. Also, DH and myself are too lazy not DIY savvy enough to do this ourselves so who would we get to dismantle/remove and refit?

yes you can remove
yes you can reuse new one
just need to get one the same size as the existing one (most are normal or slimline so this shouldn't be an issue)
if not fitting yourself (and it is really easy, I did mine) get a local odd-job builder/plumber.

It will be fine - no issues at all. Just unplug, turn off the little switch on the water feed and unscrew the connection.

Oh that sounds good. Our seems to be sealed in though. Not sure how to remove it.

Open the door and look at the side where it connects to the units next to it, there may be screws connecting them.

What I', also trying to suss out is how to remove the wooden door from the dishwasher. Obviously if we buy another integrated washer we need to put the wooden door back on so that we have a handle!

From memory, it screws onto it - if you open the door of the d/w, you should see lots of screws. I think some of the hold the control mechanism and wiring inside the door in place but some of them hold the "cupboard door" in place. Loosen a few (rather than take them out completely) and see which ones are which.

I can't remember how mine came off, but it was definitely easy enough, and I reused the door on the new one.
