OK, so we've done KS2 SATS and there are two months left...........

....what are yours up to, to fill the time between now and leaving primary school?

DS seems to be playing a lot of rounders

possibly there is a bit more art going on than there was in the run up to SATS......

We do have school journey at the beginning of July.

Well we parents are invited in for a meeting about sex ed tomorrow eve so I would imagine that will be filling some of the time.

They have an activity week in a while - not sure what that will entail (hopefully nothing practical from the above but ds says it is £30.

They also have sports day and a leaving service to prepare for and an ICT based project that they will start now and finish at secondary school.

Business as usual for our Y6 except they have a residential visit at the end of term

My ds's school made it clear before the SATs tests that there are still 9 weeks to go which is almost quarter of the school year as the head pointed out. They will be studying in that time as there is still curriculum to learn and to prepare themselves for secondary school.

However (as they do every summer) they are doing country dancing and maypole dancing (year 6 only do that), they are swimming as th epool is outdoors they can only do it in summer months, they are having a day out at the beach to celebrate their hard work, and they will of course be having various days where children are away on induction days to their new secondary schools. There is also the usual sports day, country dancing festival, various leavers events, oh and a non pupil day coming up...

Pretty much the same as most other years at school. If you feel your children aren't doing enough studying these last few weeks you should speak to the head. I'm sure they'll put your mind at rest on that one!

Gilly - I am not worried at all, but there was a definite peak for the SATs, and now it's so relaxed!

We spent two hours gardening this morning! We still managed to fit in Maths, English, some science and PE too!

I wish that is how it could always be primarymum. At DC school, KS2 SATS are ultra major and in the run up to them, the children are driven relentlessly, and everything else goes out of the window.
