I am just about ready to apply for a p/t teaching job but have no confidence in writing my personal statement. Can anyone help? I've looked on internet and a lot of them are aimed at recently qualified teachers. I have been qualified for 10 years so should a mention my uni experiences in my personal statement?

Maybe emphasising your experience would make your application stand out?

I have just applied for part time jobs after teaching for 8 years, I didnt mention my uni experiences, just the ones for the 8 years i have been teaching.

i would mention...
what you strengths are
what experience you have had eg, what ages taught, sen taught, co ordinator responsibilities
how you like your classroom to be ; eg stimulating, warm, friendly, safe
working as part of a team
assessment for learning
being keen to do extra curric!
every child matters
different learnign styles - differentiation

hope that helps, its not easy to write a letter of application for a teaching job, but well worth it when you get one in the end
