but dd2 is bored at school.

i dont want to be pushy.

but she is acting up and said she is bored and the work is too easy.

she has just started year 1.

i want to leave till half term to see if the new teacher is just guaging dd2 ability, dh says give them another week.

I'd be inclined to leave it till half term and bring it up after then if it's still an issue (we usually have a parents' eve after half term - do you?).

There's pushy and then there's not wanting your child to be bored which can quickly lead to other problems.

hmmm I am also concerned about the work/ability group my ds2 has been placed in. He's absolutely delighted to be given spellings he doesn't have to learn and easy work. I think it's because his handwriting is poor.It's bothering me though as the same thing happened in yr1 and teacher refused to move him. Then straight into top sets in yr2. Then this yr seems to be middle again despite last yrs teacher saying he was in her top 5. I don't want to wait till parent's evening.

I would re-assess in a week, and if dd is happier leave till half-term then talk to them. If she's saying the same thing, and feels really bored in a week, I don't think its being pushy to talk to the teacher and get her input....its responding to your child, and working with the school

If the work is too easy, and she's bored, its as much of a problem as the work being too hard and a child being overwhelmed...
