My 6 year old needs a navy garbadine coat for school and I can't find one anywhere. Does anyone know of any websites? She needs a long one.

Bet John Lewis does these. I'll look for you.

Thanks!!!!!I did check John Lewis and I got nothing. I would have thought it was a common item but it doesn't seem to be

I know, I know, its been ages. I have been up to my eyeballs. I don't think I've been on here since March.

dont the school tell you?

there is a navy coat here but very ££££££ and not sure if trad gabardine

paulaplumpbottom Thu 21-Aug-08 17:51:59

No the school doesn't know and they aren't sold in the shop where i bought everything else. I'm desperate so price is not an issue

paulaplumpbottom Thu 21-Aug-08 17:53:45

It doesn't sai if that coat is waterproof

paulaplumpbottom Thu 21-Aug-08 17:54:33

Isn't garbadine usually treated?

Slouchy Thu 21-Aug-08 17:58:00

Sorry, I am flummoxed. Enid's link looks your best bet paula. Good luck!

paulaplumpbottom Thu 21-Aug-08 18:01:11

I called Perry's and it isn't garbadine. sad

I doubt you'll find one online tbh.

It's probaly only going to be stocked by a small independent shop these days. Why hasn't the school recommended an outfitter?

paulaplumpbottom Thu 21-Aug-08 18:06:31

apparently their usual supplier stopped making them

Mercy Thu 21-Aug-08 18:10:45

Oh dear, that's not fair for the school to insist then imo.

Thb I'd wait until term starts and then ask the school for their opinion/advice.

Because as we all know it will be blazing sunshine for the whole of September and dd won't need a gabardine coat for ages.

paulaplumpbottom Thu 21-Aug-08 18:13:17

It isn't fair and I'm really irritated to be honest.

I know she won't need it right away. I just wanted to be prepared

paulaplumpbottom Thu 21-Aug-08 18:23:46

well thanks for trying

I'll give them a go. You would think that would be the case at my daughter's school but it doesn't seem to be.

paulaplumpbottom Thu 21-Aug-08 21:20:48

Thanks Dilemma, I appreciate the help
