Hello, I am an MA Journalism student writing a final project on children and covid-19. I wondered if there are any teachers who would be happy to answer some questions for my article on the return to school for some year groups this week? Thank you, Ailsa (Mum of 2 boys with one on the way)

Thank you! Are you teaching at a school at the moment? I wondered how the first week had gone, roughly the percentage that returned, how you felt and also if there had been any extra measures put in place to help the anxieties and potential mental health issues of children and staff? Thanks again

Loved the first week back! I have a class of 28- 16 are back and we have 8 in each bubble- more are coming back from next week. We have 26/28 of our year 6s back and 24/28 reception children back.
We have a great risk assessment which focuses on the wellbeing of staff and children. We are still doing the core lessons but we are also doing a lot of wellbeing and mindfulness lessons in the afternoons.
We have a great headteacher who has done so much to make the start back run as smoothly as possible.
I've loved it xx

That sounds wonderful! My boys went back this week and it’s been the best week ever according to them 😂. So glad it can be such a positive experience. Thanks so much for your reply, Ailsa
