Morning all

I am from SA and we want to move to the UK next year. I will be working in Feltham. Want to know if you know of any good schools in and around area for my 10 year old daughter.

Thanks

Vani

Have you heard of OFSTED? That's the body which assesses schools on performance.

You can access the testing results of any school on the Ofsted website below

www.gov.uk/government/organisations/ofsted

Firstly, google Secondary Schools in Feltham and then look them up on the Ofsted site.

Your DD will be starting Secondary the year she's turned 11. When you think you've found some schools which interest you, phone them up and ask about their admittance policies. It's hard to get into the good ones...and the rules are strict. You may need to live very, very close to a school to get in and sometimes even that isn't enough.

You may have to give serious thought to living in Feltham. It seems not to have a good reputation as an area for raising up children.

In terms of secondary school, there is the Green School for Girls in Isleworth which is in the same borough as Feltham. It's a Church of England school rated outstanding.

Best wishes in your move.

Good schools
Waldegrave
Orleans Park
Turing House
Green school as mentioned
Reach
Heathfield
Nicer areas near Feltham. Twickenham, the first 3 schools on my list
Shepperton , Thames mead school supposed to be good
Sunbury don’t know their schools.
A lot of Hounslow borough is very ethnically diverse. As a result they are very used to newcomers to uk, it’s proximity to Heathrow helps this.

Teddington is a nice area not too far away. Probably more expensive housing wise.
