I’m currently doing the rounds as my son is due to start school next year. Not quite sure what’s I’m looking for but hoping there will be a school that feels right when I visit. Would love to hear from parents with kids at Ashmount, Whitehall Park, Hargrave Park, Yerbury, Duncombe, Poole’s Park (I really loved the atmosphere here and the outdoor garden and classroom though it’s a bit far from us), any others. Have read various older threads but would be great to hear the latest! Thank you!

I have a friend with a child at Whitehall Park and she's happy with it. Ashmount is well regarded and Yerbury very sought after, as far as I know. Are you anywhere near Ambler? It got Outstanding earlier this year.

Thank you for this! I liked Yerbury but we’re unlikely to get in as just outside catchment. I’m going to see WP soon. Ambler is too far from us unfortunately. Thanks for your help.

A lot changed this year after offer day, so don't take the April distance as the final one! Duncombe and Yerbury are both great in our experience. I can't believe you liked Pooles Park - when I went the children and teachers didn't seem very enthusiastic and the wall displays etc seemed very uncared for - though I don't know anyone who's been there. pm me if you want more info

I know someone who had a DC at Poole's Park but changed schools (as they weren't happy with the school) during Y1 child is now Y3.
I didn't feel much affection for Yerbury when we looked around. I have heard positive comments about Hargrave Park. Am guessing you must be too far from the likes of Grafton or Tufnell Park?

Thanks both. That’s very useful. Poole’s Park is a little too far anyhow (in terms of walking). We’re too far from Grafton for catchment and from Tufnell Park. Duncombe is our closest and then Yerbury.

Like someone upthread mentioned there is a lot of movement between April and the start of school so even if you think you may be just out of the cut offs for your favourites (which do vary each year) you could put them as your first and second choices. Places often come up through reception too.
