Well, my Y2 DS is doing about an hour each day during the holidays. He is August born and rubbish at spelling so it helps him keep up. At a prep so v long holidays.

He doesn't do homework every day in term time because of extra-curriculars/ play dates/being tired etc. I would say he does a total of about 2hrs a week.

I don't think there is a particular amount they 'should' do at any age. Depends how much extra help they need.

Reading daily for at least 10 mins ... I dislike homework but considering it will increase in high school it's best to form habits so a couple of pieces per week I'd say.

Dd1 has 50 minutes homework from school a week, done over the weekend. She reads for an hour before bed, but I rarely listen to her (though we may discuss the book, if it's one I've read). She doesn't do anything else in term time, though in the holidays I get her to do some maths games on the iPad a few times a week (times tables, fractions etc).

If you are asking about KS2 SATs work over Easter, then last year we did some maths and or SPaG each day, but only because DD needed to, not directly for the SATs iyswim?
