The Lea or sauncey wood, harpenden?

Hi, we are hoping to move to harpenden in the next month or two and we will have to do an in-year transfer most likely. The only schools that seem to have vacancies when I check are the Lea and Sauncey Wood. Does anyone have any experience of either school? Realise that everyone else tries to get into roundwood or crab tree but being realistic I don't think we stand a chance as house won't be right on the doorstep. Any insights appreciated, thank you

Hello - I was wondering if you ever did move and what school your children went to? I am in your old shoes now as moving to Harpenden from London with two boys aged 7 and 9. They only have places at Sauncy Wood, which I would love any insights into. It's difficult to judge a school from one opening day, but the headmaster seemed really nice.
Any pointers much appreciated :-)
