classroom bully, going in a year now

One child in DD class is bright, smug and a plain trouble causer. She moves from child to child calling them names, demotivating them etc. I know of three parents who have gone in since last year to complain.

The parents have been spoken to I know but there has been no taking away of privileges by the school.

My DD is ok most of the bullying has stopped but is saying she doesn't want to be in the same class in Sept.

I'm wondering why this is continuing when the child has been spoken to several times. What would the school of said to the parents

I don't suppose I could request my DD isnot in the same class next year

Why couldn't you request it? Seems like a reasonable request.

DS1 was bullied at First School and I requested that when he went up to the next school he wasn't in that child's class.

If the class is being mixed then certainly request they are separated "if possible". However, if she is a general problem, then not everyone can avoid her, and you may be one of several who have requested this, so obviously not everyone can be accommodated in that.

We requested this when ds was bullied in p3. The bully goes from class to class each year to give teachers a break I reckon.

Now in p6 he's on his last warning according to ds. After I went marching in, the boy has never been near ds again, but I've got a funny feeling that when I left the heads office that day, the bully's mum was waiting to go in and she clearly saw me.

You are totally within your rights to request anything, but the school are also within their rights not to do what you ask. Ask soon - class lists for next year will be being drawn up soon.

If all the girls' mums demand a class move then the bully will find herself in a class of all boys next year. That'll be a result.
