Waiting lists advice please!

Does anybody know exactly how this works?

I got my first choice of primary school, however since I applied the school has slipped down the league tables, the wonderful headteacher has left and the only one of my daughters nursery friends attending that school has now moved away! I really regret not putting down the school attached to my daughters nursery as first choice now, because I thought the other factors outweighed the availability of after school care.

Can I put my daughters name down for the other school waiting list even though I got my (at the time) first choice?

And If I put her down on the waiting list for that school do I automatically lose the place at the school originally offered to us if we do get offered a place from the waiting list? Or do we have to formally accept first?

Thanks!

Yes you can put her name on the waiting lit for the other school.

No putting her name down on any waiting lists will not forfeit her school place.

And you will keep the place that you've currently got until such time as you formally turn it down, to accept the other offer (if it materialises).
