Minor issue - I know but its driving me up the wall !

Until this yr dd very switched on never forgot stuff (hardly ever) and always had the right things. (was slow to settle this year compared to previous years). This year she is always forgetting to take the right things in eg violin, pe kit etc completed homework I have made a chart for her to highlight different equipment for different days and standard things like homework but it still seems a long drawn out reminding process also lately her homework has got quite messy (partially due t o ink pen). academically she is flying and strenghtening weak areas.

How do I get her to mentally slow down and remember things? Is it a phase that we just work through? what do you do ?
