DD can read quite well but doesn't seem keen on reading. She loves all the puzzles and game homework and even the list of words she gets from school but really drags her feet when it comes to the reading the book of the night. Luckily the school doesn't stick on one reading scheme but she still doesn't seem very inspired by the books. She has completely cracked reading phonetically but gets stuck on some of the tricky words. I think if she had more fun books to read or nearly read it would inpsire her. Have parents evening soon but any ideas of books to get for half term?
Reading is becoming a chore to be avoided for her, I don' really undestand as I have always devoured books from the first day I could read one! Over the summer I was completely relaxed about reading and she read very little, tried reading chest but again the books were rather dull.
