Chigwell primary schools

I am currently living in the Chigwell area does anybody have any experience with admissions for the local schools and surrounding area. I have been informed my primary catchment is Limes Farm. Not a school I plan on sending my little one to.

Is there any chance of st johns in buckhurst hill, or is that pretty much impossible being so popular?

Already been looking at local private schools too, so any info or recommendations with those would be great.
I am fortunate enough to be able to afford private school fees, but want to do everything I can to get a place at a decent state primary. Rather than having no other option ... Please help!

If you wanted private then the obvious one would be Chigwell School however that only starts at 7 . Otherwise, there is in Buckhurst Hill - Loyola Prep (boys only), The Daiglen School (mixed), Braeside (girls only) ... Or in Loughton - Oaklands School (mixed) where quite a few leave to go to Chigwell at 7.
i don't know if you are Jewish but if you are then I heard that there is a fantastic 'outstanding' school called Clore Tikva ....

Orchidskeepdying.. Absolutely nothing to do with diversity?? Most schools are diverse in this area so no idea where your coming from I'm afraid.
Sorry did you have anything to say or just wanted to be rude and judgmental ?
Thanks for those 100lilgreen been looking at all of those. Will keep touring the local schools

3 friends reports of bullying and nothing much done about it, has made me wary. Its actually good to hear positive comments.
Have not looked at fair lop primary but sadly think I'm out of the catchement, also for Roding primary

Are you based in chigwell and have managed to secure places at fairlop out of interest ibbydibby... Be nice to hear of anyone who has been able to secure places at schools even if they're out of catchment

Fairlop has quite a large catchment area because it takes so many children each year (90). DS has just started reception there and we are very happy with it so far. If you call Redbridge, they'll be able to tell you this year's qualifying distance so you can see if you're in with a chance.

Also, as far as I know, Clore Tikva is no longer "Outstanding" according to Ofsted, but is a lovely school all the same.

cinders - DCs went to Fairlop as it was our catchment school. At that time there were a few out of catchment who went there. We moved away a few years ago so not there now. Was a lovely school though, and still is, from what I have heard from friends whose DCs still go there. Have you looked round Limes Farm? Asked questions re how bullying is dealt with?
