I've already posted a thread as we're hoping to get ds2 in our school of choice but there is no space in yr2 for ds1. I'd like to know anyones experience with regards to schools in elmbridge, as near to esher as poss. I'm new to the area and I'd like to send my children to a good local state school. Any feedback would be very welcome.
Thanks

I'm just down the road in Weybridge. My friends who live in Hersham send their children (and are applying this year) to Cranmere in Esher. They say it's very good school.
Sorry not much else to advise.

Esher Church School very well thought of. And there does seem to be 'movement' so a place could come up.

Thames Ditton primary and Claygate primary also very good.

Hi mumsnut,
That sounds promising. I hate the thought of sending my children to different schools for not only practical reasons but also they adore each other. Just trying to be sensible and see what else is about if ds1 doesn't get a place.

I have known instances of children starting at one of the other Esher primaries (or even one of the pre-preps), then moving to ECS as a place became available - quite quickly. If you do a search on old threads, you will find some discussion of the Esher primaries from a year or so ago.
