Footie sounds good.

DS is just quitting swim lessons, having moved thru several stages in last year which I'm pleased about. He's started a Sunday paper round plus picks up other odd days of paper rounds. He goes skating & country walking with me, and likes cinema, library & chip shop outings.

Another fan of Fortnite here too! He’s 11 but in year 7. He does really enjoy table tennis too - plays obsessively at school but he needs someone to take him and someone to play against so he doesn’t play as much as he’d like to outside school. Other than that, he plays football with a friend on Saturday mornings and goes to youth group and church. He plays the piano a bit too but generally Xbox is his favourite activity! I’m not too worried about it. It’s sociable and it’s also a shared hobby with his dad. To be honest I think it’s preferable to the phone addiction of his older sister!

My DS is 13 and he mainly likes Xbox, Cricket and Scouts. Once in a blue moon he’ll cook or bake too.

Fortnite and football here too. Oh, and eating.
He gave up scouts at the start of the year which I was a bit sad about as he loves the outdoor stuff (but the leaders were rubbish). He plays the guitar but seldom chooses to.
I’d love him to be less obsessed with the PlayStation but struggling to know how - although he does like going out with mates so I’m hoping when the weather finally improves he’ll be out more.
Sorry - not very helpful but at least you can see you’re not alone!Grin

Mountain biking. But both Dh and I are keen mountain bikers too so it’s just rubbed off as he’s been made do do it from a young age.
But there are loads of bmx clubs around

I saw some teens doing some cools stuff on a kiddy trampoline in the park the other day. Turns out they go to the trampoline places which have cropped up all over, they’re in a club at one of them.

Glad to see this thread. DS turns 12 in July. ATM his hobbies include football, tennis, swimming, rugby and cricket. I've also signed him up for drama on a Mon after school.

Sadly i think we are going to have to retire him from Sunday team rugby. He's not taking it seriously enough to be in the team and will end up getting hurt. Bit disappointed. We may move teams , find one less competitive.

He's a good at cricket and I've upped the amount of tennis costing a small fortune. He's not a contact sport kid and is not terribly team minded so tennis it is.

Football is his passion tho. Will wear Astros and footy strip everywhere if I let him. Loves his after school lessons - one team sport he will do with pride.

He also collects the matchattax cards that have cost us too much money and I want that to stop. I had to take them all away as he was caught swearing. They've been banned til end June. Am hoping he forgets about them.

He also loves basic computer games. Nintendo is broken so that's out.

He's very active to mainly sports.

My nephew plays tennis and he also plays a musical instrument. As well as the usual xbox stuff. Think he also does scouts as well.

My Year 8, 12 year old DS has done various things. Football he has done since 5, and still trains one night a week with a match at weekends and plays for the school team. Outside school he also does Cadets and is loving that.
He does drama at school, and was part of the production which took up one evening a week after school.
Other than that he is also a Fortnite addict 😂

I am about the same age as your boy Okp12 and I am a boy too.
I do and i've done lots of things at home such as reading and science (reading about science, doing astronomy, biology, etc.). For astronomy I have two pairs of binoculars and a telescope, and I make observations in most clear-skied nights. I read very much, it is one of my favorite things. I also go to an art class (here in Romania we do not do a lot of art at school) and I love painting, drawing and all other things I do there. I have also done several things in the past years such as swimming and piano (I still swim but just for fun). And the best thing is that I have no Xbox and I do not know what Fortnite is (but I know it is a game). About sports I spend my summer vacation in the countryside and I do sport overthere with several friends who also spend their vacations there. Last winter I also went to a ski camp and I learned to ski.

I also do programming at home: I have an Arduino board and several pieces such as sensors and wheels and I designed and built a "robot". I programmed it to do several things such as moving around with its wheels, avoiding obstacles, measuring temperature and humidity, etc.
