Schools Bearsden

Hello, we are facing a move from Singapore back to Scotland and are having difficulty finding places to rent within a good catchment area and a short commute to Glasgow. (We are from the east coast so don't know the west at all) There is one place in Bearsden but we don't know the area, Are there any parts of Bearsden we should avoid?
