Schools advice

I’m from the UK but have spent the last 7 years living in Hong Kong. We are hoping to relocate to Cheshire area in the next couple of years and starting to think about schooling options for when we return. I don’t know the area well so I would be grateful if anyone could recommend areas in Cheshire that offer fantastic state school options and I’m happy to hear about excellent private school options also. This can then help us refine our search to look for a home. Thanks so much for any advice. We hope to be in or near a nice area with a village or small town feel, with coffee shops, quaint restaurants etc, and an active mother and baby community with groups and meet ups. TIA

Christleton is your best bet if you're wanting an excellent primary and secondary and a lovely place to live.

The area for admittance is tight though and as a result, it's not easy to get property within the borders of the village.

Mickle Trafford Primary is lovely but again, oversubscribed.

There are quite a number of excellent primaries but secondary isn't so good a choice within Chester.

I've only advised within Chester rather than Cheshire as a wider county because that's what I know best. There are other excellent options further afield including grammars.

I assume you don't want fee paying though?
