Your local Family Information Service should have details about whether it is available in your area.

There are only a few areas I think; mainly pilot schemes

It's normally for 3yos

If you google "2 year old early years funding" & your area you might get more info

2 yr old funding is being run as pilot schemes across the country. It's very targetted.

Your child needs to be referred (usually through Children's Centres) before they can be considered for the funding. Places are limited too.

Your local FIS (Family Information Service) can give you more advice Smile

No, no experience I'm afraid. My knowledge comes through my work, but 2yo funding isn't my remit, so I don't know huge amounts.

I'm not sure whether referral can come through HV's tbh, but there's no harm in asking.

FIS will definitely be able to help, and if they don't know the answer to specific questions, they will put you through to the relevant people who can help Smile

Generally it's Children's Centres that refer (but your HV maybe able to refer to a CC)

I have been eligible to take 2yos for ages now; but very few qualify for it & those that do, generally access the CC childcare

My daughter has just been accepted onto this scheme. She is 29 months and has speech delay. She starts 15 hrs of free nursery hours at a local nursery from Monday.
She has speech delay. We were put forward for it at a Sure Start stay and play group by a visiting admin officer for said scheme.
Hope this info helps in some way.
