Now that we're almost at lockdown stage, I'm starting to think forwards to the possibility of this being a medium to long term arrangement. Already, we're hearing about Amazon limiting what it will deliver. This morning, I started thinking about needing ant traps soon. I also began to wonder about what clothes will fit the kids, and how readily available these will be if we run out.

What other summer essentials might not be easy to get hold of in a few weeks?

Aloe Vera gel to cool down any burns. Guessing stock may be a bit short if it’s being used for DIY handgel

What about suncream? The kids might be keen to play in the garden a lot if they've been cooped up a lot.

I'm not bothered about clothes, if there is no-one to see the kids in a "too short" summer dress etc then it doesn't matter.

Maybe gardening equipment? I need more compost for my seedlings. Maybe I should stock up before going out is completely banned.

I read we'll be able to go out in our gardens as long as we keep a certain distance from the fence. Although, not essential I bought some weed killer the other day. Hoping to have the car tomorrow, so planning to go to the local nursery to buy compost, plants for my baskets and tomato plants, which I do every year. I actually enjoy going out spraying the weeds and watering my baskets.

Luckily, it's always empty in there (don't know how they keep going). so only person I need to have contact with is the owner.

People won't be able to go out to the cafes/pubs/restaurants so think about having tea, coffee, wine in stock, so you can enjoy a drink outside. Also, if you enjoy reading, get a couple of new books.

I'm trying to focus on little things I enjoy doing and can look forward to the summer for that reason.
