How much stock makes you a prepper?

With the amount of toilet roll I have it looks like I'm prepping for the toots

72 hours apparently. Although, I'd say more like 3 weeks - surely most people have 72 hours worth of food in, and could stash enough water with notice?

Prepper or not, I try to keep 2 - 3 weeks worth of food in the house. I've had children that passed contagious illness around for 2 weeks (chicken pox, stomach bug) and I was stuck in the house. I could have ordered an online delivery but when we're ill, I tend to avoid that if I can, especially if it's something contagious, so I don't expose anyone unnecessarily.

I've been snowed in before, and it's nice to be able to stay at home and not worry about trudging through the snow and dealing with all the people that then panic buy all the milk and bread in the supermarket (because they didn't stock up in preparation).

It's common sense to plan ahead. I don't think of it as preparing for doomsday. It's just basic planning.

I'd say over 2 months worth as that's some serious snow, flooding, illness etc so outside the reasonably expectable problems with getting more shopping.

Anyone who consciously plans ahead for scenarios where they might need stocked supplies. That person's first tin of beans makes then a prepper Wink
