Taken Morning After Pill. Could I still be pregnant?

Sorry if this is the wrong topic, I wasn't sure where to put it.
Had sex on Friday night with DH. The condom came off before he ejaculated. He put another one on and we carried on. In the morning I started worrying about it and I decided to go to the chemist for the Morning After Pill (they gave me Levonelle) I took it approximately 14 hours after the incident. I have been reading about this sort of thing online and a lot of people are saying that even taking the MAP they still fell pregnant because they were mid cycle (ovulating). I'm panicking a bit about this because I think I may be mid cycle. It's hard to tell because my periods are not completely regular. Logically I know it is probably unlikely that I'm pregnant because the condom came off before ejaculation however I have read that some sperm can be present in the fluid that comes out before (sorry if TMi) however I just could not have another baby ( I have 2 DC aged 10 and 5 and I'm 41!) Also I have a history of anxiety and depression, suffer from tokophobia and suffered PTSD after my first child's birth. Another pregnancy is not an option
I feel so stupid. I had to stop taking the pill earlier this year because it was making my depression really bad ( I've felt much better since coming off) I don't want any more hormonal contraception eg coil or implant. I've even asked my GP about sterilisation but she was reluctant to refer me for it

Looking for reassurance really. Please don't judge. I feel so stupid

  • he didn't ejaculate inside you
  • you took the map almost immediately
  • you're 41
  • abortion exists
    Calm down!

It's unlikely you'll be pregnant. Nothing is 100% but the odds are stacked very heavily against you. Try not to fret too much.

It's very unlikely - I believe pregnancy with the mop are usually due to the length of time it was taken after (can be taken up to 72 hours later I think - it's less effective then)

I'm 99.999% sure you'll be fine

Possible but extremely unlikely. Stop worrying!

I've taken the MAP on the second day and didn't fall pregnant.

I'd say you'll be fine!

Thanks. I feel such an idiot and my anxiety is going in to overdrive!

Very unlikely. Can't you get the copper coil? No hormones in that!

Sorry but I couldn't have a coil inserted due to my PTSD. Just thinking about it makes me feel panicky

Yes, you could be pregnant. But it's a tiny chance. Even with a condom not falling off, it's not 100% effective. But the chances of you being pregnant when you've used contraception are very, very slim. And if you are, you have options.

I took it within 12 hours and still ended up pregnant. It does happen, but it's not common as far as I know. Keep a test around to be sure, and keep an eye on pregnancy signs. (Mine was ectopic thanks to MAP!).
