Pregnancy choices

I THINK I MAY BE PREGNANT

Ok; I had sex on Wednesday and the condom broke (which contained sperm) around 3.30pm.

At around 6.30ish PM (on the same day) I went to the pharmacist and took the levonille at that same roughly time.

The issue is, I don't know when I ovulated! My periods are so irregular that I don't bother to keep track of it. I'm assuming my last period was around the beginning of the month... Or by early midweek; like around the 12th.

I'm now experiencing sore boobs; lower abdominal pain; so I'm assuming that my period was due around this time.

I've heard that if you have already ovulated then the pill has a last chance of working.

Sad

The overwhelming likelihood if you had the MAP the same day is that you are NOT pregnant.

But the only way to know is to wait until you can test. Tbh if you are due on now then you would have ovulated 12 days or so ago so you'd be well out of danger. Your symptoms sound pre menstrual to me.

Wait you had sex on Wednesday and it's now Friday. Aside from the fact you took the MAP, it's not scientifically possible to have pregnancy symptoms 2 days after sex.

The reason why I'm worried is because I had another accident a year ago and took the MAP within two hours of taking the Levonille and still fell pregnant Sad; though it could be because I had sex again a few days later ( 4 days after taking levonille) and the condom burst again... But didn't take anything that time as the doctor advised that the pill would of covered me anyway.

bono is spot on-if you only had sex on Wednesday there's no way you'd be getting pregnancy symptoms yet. It could be psychosomatic due to the worry. The MAP is extremely effective taken so early after unprotected sex. You should be fine.

You might want to consider alternative contraception because condoms don't seem to be working all that well for you.

The time between ovulation and your period is around 10-14 days usually, so if your period is due now you actually would have ovulated roughly 2 weeks ago. And therefore would be in no danger of being pregnant from Wednesday.

There is no way on Earth of knowing whether you are pregnant after having sex 2 days ago. Becuase you are not actually pregnant until the fertilised egg has been implanted.
You are going to have to wait it out for a few weeks.
An I'd think about a new form of contraception if I was you as you don't seem to be having much luck with condoms....

No, if you're getting your period now you would have ovulated 10 days to two weeks ago.

No it doesn't Confused

It probably just means your period is coming.

Either way even if you had just ovulated you would not be getting symptoms so soon. It isn't physically possible.

No way you'd have symptoms two days after. The only way to know for sure though,is to wait a few weeks and then take a pregnancy test .Also think about using some other contraceptive method alongside condoms since you seem to have such bad luck with them

Have you read the MAP leaflet ie what you're now feeling could be completely normal. Levonelle can make you feel sick, dizzy, tired, give you a headache, tender breasts or abdominal pain.

I think that what you're now experiencing is totally normal.

I feel so stupid.

I thought because I'm experiencing period like symptoms now; it means that I was due my period soon; which could mean I had sex during I ovulated..

Just feeing really stupid.

Your period on average would be due 7 - 14 days after you ovulated, so even if you were due on now you wouldn't have had sex during ovulation.

Don't feel stupid - this stuff isn't really common knowledge unless you've used it when ttc, IMO!

Don't feel stupid.

Average cycle -

Cycle day 1 - first day of period.
CD 10-14 - ovulation. Egg survives 2 days but sperm survives up to 5. 2/3 days after ovulation you are not fertile.
CD 28 - pre menstrual symptoms, then back to CD1

Obviously this varies from woman to woman, but if you are due your period now or soon there is NO WAY you would have ovulated on Wednesday.

Also, even if you had had sex during ovulation, there's no way you could have pregnancy symptoms 2 days later.

Chill. And get on the pill, condoms don't seem to be your friend Wink

So do you think it's worth going on the copper coil for extra protection? I was scared about possible scarring if I go through with th coil procedure.

No scarring with the coil.
Get yourself to the family planning clinic ASAP.

Maybe side effects from MAP? I've had it once and it made me feel awful for about 2 days. I was not pregnant.

These sound like perfectly normal side effects from the levonelle. As an aside, if you are getting condoms splitting on you regularly you should perhaps consider another form of birth control, just to give you peace of mind in future?
