I had a surgical termination today

I neither feel relieved or heartbroken. Is that odd?
When I came round from the anaesthetic I asked if it was done, the nurse said yes, and I cried a lot then slept for hours.
Now I'm at home, in a lot of pain and just feeling nothing.

I have 3dc already, I'm married, I couldn't have a 4th.
I didn't want to go through this but felt I had no option really.

Nothing to say except I hope you're ok.

You'll probably feel numb for a while. Try to take it easy on yourself. Give yourself a lot of time.

It's not odd at all, it's often the way we cope.

No its not odd. Everyone reacts differently.

No, it's quite a normal reaction tbh.

You say you're in a lot of pain. Are you taking painkillers? What sort of pain? What is your bleeding like? Were you given prophylactic antibiotics?

Take care of yourself.

Hope you're okay. I had a surgical and I was in shock I think for the first couple of weeks. Flowers

I felt tearful but also strangely numb for a while after I had a termination. There is no right or wrong (or weird!) way to feel.

Get plenty of rest, take painkillers and go easy on yourself. Hoping you start to feel better soon x

Thanks for the reassuring replies, it really helps.

I'm taking paracetamol and ibuprofen plus codeine prescribed by the hospital which is taking the edge off but still have this horrible dull Pulling pain at the pit of my stomach.

My bleeding is ok, not too heavy, new pad every couple of hours worth. Just feel so yuckSad

How are you doing?

I had a surgical abortion about 4 years ago, and didn't feel remotely guilty (I still don't to this day) It was strange and I wondered if that was normal. I think it is. Don't beat yourself up over it.

Take plenty of painkillers, get plenty of rest and try to relax

I had a surgical abortion in October. I didn't feel guilty at all and although I'd love another (1 dc atm) the situation and circumstances were all wrong if anything I felt relived I hardly suffered any bleeding and the aching went after a good night's sleep hope you are okay xx
