Hi, I'm 24+2 and just fell out the back door. I was holding ds at the time and was more conscious about not hurting him than about being pregnant. I twisted my ankle and landed on my side. Ds was fine. just a bit shaken. I'm now worried that I might have hurt the baby. I have felt him move since but am wondering whether I should get checked out by someone! WWYD???

are you in any pain/bleeding?
I would get checked out just to be on the safe side

Are you RH-? If you are you will probably need an Anti-D jab in case of bleeding. Other than that I'm sure all is fine, but I would ring NHS direct for advice.

Was it a heavy fall? Your baby is so robust and very well protected inside of you, so bear that in mind!

Call your hospital- the number will be in your green notes- and talk to a midwife there. I would do this, and probably lean on them letting me come in and listen to the heart and monitor me for a bit.

I am sure you and baby are absolutely fine. Just get peace of mind. Good Luck and come back and let us know. x

i had a fall down the stairs when i was pregnant with DD2 and i was advised to go into the hospital following calling the maternity unit, they kept me in for a few days to make sure i didnt go into premature labour, but i was unsure whether i lost consciousness at all as i was very disorientated and in shock.

its a good idea to go in and have yourself checked out, go on the monitor for a couple hrs to make sure the babys is fine.

gd luck, hope everythings fine and dandy!

Hi bananastew, I had a fall at around the same time as you, I landed on my side, ontop of DS1's push along car!
I had cramps in my abdomen that night, and called nhs direct.
They said if the baby is moving, and I didn't bleed, not to worry!
That it will be well cushioned inside?
I confirmed this with the midwife, next morning, who agreed with nhs direct.
I'm sure everything is fine, but for your own peace of mind, maybe give them a call?
At least if you do go in to get checked out, you will be able to listen to babys heart beat

Thanks for all your replies! I borrowed a friends doppler & had a listen to the heartbeat. Strong as ever! He's giving me what for today tho. Plenty of rib kicks!
I'll make sure I'm more careful from now on!

Glad all okay. Think the babies are alot more protected than we think. I fell on ice when about the same way on with my DD - flew up on air but thankfully fell on my side. All was fine.

When I was about 22 weeks, I climbed over a 5 foot gate (don't ask)and fell off.

I didn't think much of it, but the dext morning I had a little bit of blood. Called the midwife for advice and she sent me to hosp. Turns out it was a coincidence. At least the nurses were laughing at the thouht of me on a gate!

Baby is totally fine and i'm now nearly 30 weeks.

I think you'll be ok.
