Thai food?

Sorry, another posting from me about food!

I'm nearly 8 weeks. Can I eat a mild Thai aubergine and tofu curry? I read somewhere about lemongrass not being great for pregnant woman, but I can't find it again.

Thanks all

there's not very much you have to avoid food wise during pregnancy.

why not check out tommys.org they have a good clear list on there and some good advice too.

OP I agree with privet dancer. Also, think about some people who don't even know they're pregnant and smash in loads of 'bad' stuff before they find out. I think the main stuff you have to avoid is undercooked eggs, pate (ew), raw fish like sushi, undercooked meats, offal, moudly cheeses and too many portions of mercury high fish. That's all I can think of but I don't think flavourings would do it. There's a lush Thai restauraunt right by where I live and I've chowed down about three times there since being pg so I'm sure you'll be fine... enjoy yourself

There is NOTHING wrong with raw eggs assuming they are normal, regular eggs from a British supermarket (are lion stamped).

undercooked meats only applies to meats you wouldn't normally eat undercooked - like chicken or pork. You don't need to suddenly start nuking the beef or lamb instead of having them nice and pink.

Thai food is fine, what do you think people in thailand eat?

Thanks all - yes, it was a bit of a stupid question, bought home to me by the simple fact that women in Thailand do, in fact, have children!! J
