Aching Bottom

Hi
I am 16 weeks pg & feeling fine (touch wood) apart from a really achy bottom...I feel like I have been on the stepper for 24hrs! It feels like a muscular ache in the middle of my bottom to the underneath of my bum cheeks. I havent been doing anything different & so cannot think what could be causing it other than things moving about internaly for baby...but what the hell needs to move about there?
Has anyone else experienced this or could give me some idea of what could be causing it.

Actually, I have had a really sore bottom, too! I complained about it to my hubby. it feels like I have been sitting on a really hard stool for ages.

I have been sitting quite a lot over the weekend, but on a comfy sofa and always try to take the weight of my feet.

Not sure what it is.

Glad Im ot alone!Im at the midwife tomorrow so will mention it. Im on my feet all day so my bottom & legs are used to it. Have been resting more since finding out I am pg. If she comes up with anything useful I'll post back.

I've had this too recently! I'm currently 13+4.

I'm pretty sure in my case that it was caused by the snow and ice that we've had for the last week or so. I was walking really cautiously on the slippery pavements, which was causing me to use a different set of muscles to normal - happened to be the ones in my butt.

It's gone away after spending the weekend not walking on ice and after the pavements were finally clear this morning. Not sure if your situations are the same, but figured I'd share my experience!

You could try wearing a maternity belt/band as this will support your pelvic girdle which may be stretching a little too quickly..?

Hi Ladies
Have been to the midwife today who says it it sciatica (sorry if that is spelt wrong) due to the increase in hormones, your bones soften therefore causing the pain(somehow?)she has advised exercise, particularly swimming & has said sitting/resting will not help it. If it is really bad take paracetamol.
Hope this helps.
