Numb + tingly fingers

A question for all your experts!

I am getting very numb fingers and numbness/pins and needles in right hand/arm, mainly half an hour or so after I wake up, whether or not I get out of bed straight away. Feel like hand/arm has gone to sleep but normal rubbing/moving/circulation boosters don't 'unsleep' it.

Is this the beginning of carpal tunnel? or something more sinister?

I have this too! I wake in the night with it too. Are your hands generally a bit sore and swollen as well?
I am 31 weeks and kind of assumed it was carpal tunnel.
I dont think that sleeping on my side helps but as we are not supposed to sleep on our backs I can't win!

Yes any experts out there I would be glad of your responses too!

I had this and the MW told me it was carpal tunnel syndrome. It went away as soon as DD was born (literally overnight). She never said if there was anything that would help, but I don't think I actually asked.

Carpel tunnel

Hold your hands over your head and wriggle your fingers.
