I had blood in my urnine last night (quite a lot sorry if TMI) it was bright red blood, so I phoned NHS direct who made an emergency doctors appointment at the hospital last night....

So I went he did a dipstick test sent me home told me to see my nurse tomorrow (BTW it was my GP on the out of hours service). Hesaid there were traces of blood and protein but he wasn't overally concerned and further tests would be done by nurse at surgery!

So I call the surgery today to be advised that I must see the doctor so I see a different doc to last night who gives me anti-b's and sends of sample....

Has anyone had any experience of Water Infections when pregnant? I'm 15 weeks today, still vomitting so I put the stomach pains down to stretched muscles as I was really really sick yesterday morning? I now have backache as well which the doctor this morning said could be related and a stonking headache my last pregnancy I didn't have anything like this so its a bit

i have had water infections in both my pregnancies

both responded well to ABs - a water infection can give you backache

it is really usual to get them in PG

get started on the ABs as soon as you can and drink plenty of water to flush everything out

I had cystitis when pg - it's important to get it treated with ABs because it can spread to the kidneys much quicker in pregnancy. I got thrush from the ABs as well so be careful of this and make sure you wear cotton underwear. If you do get thrush I don't think you can use canesten etc so I found natural yoghurt helpful. HTH

Yes -- very common but must be treated asap so that it doesn't travel to kidneys and become serious. Definitely take your antiobiotics religiously until the dose is finished. If you skip or stop early, the infection could come back in an even worse manner.
