Anyone else feel angry for no good reason?

Hi!

I'm 30 weeks pregnant with my first and have never really experienced bad mood swings or been messed around tooooo badly by hormones.

However, these last couple of weeks there's been a few times when I have felt such ANGER and tension for really silly reasons.

This always happens when I am in bed and can't sleep. I'll start thinking about some small detail - like whether the kitchen tiles really match the colour of the counter, lol - and I'll just work myself up into a rage about it!! I usually end up with a headache which is probably due to all the tension.

Has anyone else experienced this during pregnancy? Is it normal or am I going mad? It's unusual for me - I'm normally very laid back.

I completely empathise. I have experienced this a lot in this pregnancy, which i do not recall feeling in my last pg. I have found moments where my blood physically feels like it is boiling and i find it so very hard to calm down again, and like you end up with a headache.

I wish i had some answers for you, but i have asked for advice and it seems to just be a hormonal thing some people experience.

(i personally wondered, if it might be surges of testosterone hormones coursing through me, as i am having a boy, but not sure if you are, or if you know what you are having. But no evidence to back that theory up).

I would suggest, go for a walk or have a bath when you feel like this.

I got this way too.It was anxiety for me rather than hormones but didn't really realise it at the time. Once I did realise (after DS was born) and I dealt with the anxiety the anger went away too.

This made me smile as I am not sure I am not going mad. LAst night, my anger was because of some stuff left in the loft that i wanted down and had mentioned a few times. Was halfway up there before I realised the foolishness.

All my friends have threatened to run off as I now speak my mind and more where I am normally very good natured.

I identify with the blood boiling and it sounds like a whooshing sound in my ear. Was told I had a bllod vessel close to my eardrum. It's usually a good sign I need to lie down once I hear the whooshing sound or else someone in my line of vision gets it!

All normal

Thanks for the reassurance!

In the day time I'm perfectly fine! Normally when I am feeling a bit hormonal I'll have a quiet little cry and feel better in no time - this is really different for me.

Pavlov - we're having a girl. I like your theory though - I think there are 'male' hormones present in greater numbers during pregnancy, no matter what sex the baby is - so it's probably true!

I think the solution is probably to get out of bed and potter around for a while. It seems that just by getting up in the morning, the anger goes away, so maybe that would help.

Hairymelons - it could be anxiety - we're building a house right now which we're hoping will be ready before our baby is born. It's a bit of a race against time, really - and the bigger I get, the less I can do to help.

Oh the joys of pregnancy!!
