Hi ladies,
Sorry if you've discussed this before I had a quick look and couldn't find anything. This is my first baby due 9 December and I'm starting to get my hospital bag etc. together. Do any of you have recommendations for pretty nursing bras. Also do you buy the size you are now or larger?
Thanks everyone

Went to m+s and Mothercare for mine (BORING).IIRC it is best to wait until 38 weeks ish to get the best fit.Mine were practical more than pretty. The fact is they need to be fairly sturdy and will inevitably become milk stained.Comfort is the essential factor.

I found mothercare ones were terrible. Boobs fell out everytime I leaned forward.

Bravado ones are lovely and comfy and flexible sizing so you can make a good guess, plus boobs will vary to start with as well.

Hot Milk are nice. Its hard to say what size you will be. I would buy a cheapish twin pack of plain nusing bras from M&S in the size above what you are then get nicer ones about a month after you deliver when your boobs have settled down a bit.

If you can get to a good independent place then it is much better, wait til 37/38 weeks and get fitted, you should have a bra that fits on the last hook at the back so that you can tighten it as your chest narrows again after birth and you need a bit of space in the cups for milk to come in. Don't go mad at first as there is guesswork involved, you are best buying a couple of good, supportive ones like the Royce ones and then going back and getting some nicer ones when things have settled a bit. Elle McPhearson ones give you a lovely cleavage and hotmilk are really lovely but neither is as supportive as the Royce ones so I wouldn't wear them every day.

Another vote here for Bravado. So comfortable, and they give you a nice shape, too.

Deffo get some cheaper ones to start off with. When the milk comes your breasts will be huge. I am making do with ones from dd and when my breasts seem to settle, size wize, I will get some new ones. They have made moulded ones since I bought them last.

Find out if there's an NCT advisor/fitter in your area as you get good personal service. They can also suggest when you should get measured (later rather than earlier). A good fit is vital.
