sickness at 23 weeks getting worse - reflux? Help! Could be TMI

I've felt nauseous/been physically sick throughout pregnancy with bad smells and certain foods e.g. tomatoes, mushrooms, chicken but things have become much worse over the past week or so.

I don't seem to be able to eat very much - in terms of type of food/drink and volume without being sick. I have brought up every evening meal at least, despite eating much smaller portions and am sticking to dry crackers and water at work to avoid being sick there.

It's not indigestion as such, Gaviscon etc doing nothing for me. Any ideas? Is it simply a reflux problem? What can I/doc do about it? Ideally need something I can take before I eat to stop this from happening - does anything exist?

Can anyone help quickly as am going to be offline for 24 hours in about 30 mins time!!!

Thanks so much.

With my first pregnancy I was throwing up nearly every day until right near the end. (Good news is that for the second I only threw up 1st 6 weeks and for this one I've just been a bit nauseous for 3 or 4 weeks). I found a really good option was shavings of ginger root steeped in hot water - quite frankly the taste isn't good so put lots of honey in. Avoid everything with vinegar, all burpy/farty vegetables like cabbage, brocolli etc. and try chocolate buttons - also I found that strawberry squash though not terribly health effective, tastes great coming up the other way!
Good luck honey - hope I got you before you dashed.

thanks for advice. Boymaker - ginger no good for me at all - feel ill. Vinegar is definitely a no-no, but brocolli is one of the few veggies i can eat...
I feel like someone has fitted an invisible gastric band while I was sleeping which has done nothing to lessen my appetite but done everything to stop food from going down.
Only things helping are eating baby sized portions and sitting still/ definitely not rushing for a good while after eating. Definitely not practical during the week when rushing to and from work.... Just feeling a bit sorry for myself...

I would speak to your doc or GP if you can as it may be a reflux. I have a nasty reflux and I'm on omeprasole, which is safe in pregnancy. It doesn't stop the reflux completely but it's a lot better. I had to stop taking stronger tablets I was on when we started TTC. I'm now 15weeks and convinced that my MS is partially due to my reflux but it would be worse without my meds. I still use gaviscon too but some days it does absolutely nothing for me. Hope you find some relief I know how tough it can be!

thanks for that advice - getting to doc on Monday am. Desperate and miserable.
