Acute pain on one side of abdomen, now gone - is this normal?

Hello am 19 weeks tomorrow. Got up in the night to wee and was struck by an awful pain on one side of my bump that also radiated round my back. Partly like BAD period cramps, partly bad backache. Was so painful I nearly woke DP as I was starting to get v. worried. Then it ebbed away after 20 mins and was gone, and hasn't returned.

Sorry if this was TMI but we'd had sex before sleep - could this have caused it?

No bleeding, baby still moving, I feel absolutely fine now. Was it just one of those weird things or has anyone else had this and did it reoccur?

It could be ligament pain. I had it really badly at around 20 weeks, it was like a stabbing pain in my right side. Hospital thought it might be appendicitis to start with, it was around that area. I was fine though and DD was fine. I would check with your MW just in case and if you get any weird discharge or anything then call her right away.

I had throughout all of my pgs, the more babies I had the worse it got.

Sex and other activities like very fast walking did bring on.

Thanks for that, slightly reassured but will check with MW anyway.
