Got mine tomorrow lunchtime. Apart from giving me my MATB1 and HIP paperwork, what else will we be talking about ? I've not had any info about antenatal classes, will that come up ?
I've been starting to think about the birth itself and have questions about things like vitamin K and managed 3rd stage - are we likely to start discussing birth options ? I've got a few questions ready for her but don't know what to expect. I'm booked in at Crowborough for waterbirth.

Hi Fibilou,
I am going for my 28 weeks appointment on Wednesday and intend to ask those sorts of questions i.e. when the hypnobirthing course starts, when antenateal courses start etc.
I have had a 4-weekly appointment since 12 week scan which has mostly been to check my blood pressure, baby's heartbeat, and occasionally take blood. After Wed, we get one every 2 weeks - I don't have any problems, it's just what they do in my local authority. I would just treat it as reassurance and a chance to ask any questions you may have.

Blimey Fraochsmum - that would drive me nuts! I know its my second but I've only had two so far apart from the scans, I have to have them 4 weekly after 28 weeks as DS was very small at birth and even that is proving a nightmare to arrange around work (not that they aren't happy for me to go - just that I've got other things to do!).

Argyll & Bute, SW Scotland. However, we only get one scan at 12 weeks, so hearing the heartbeat makes up for only seeing him once!

That's nothing - forgot to say it's every week after 36 weeks!!!! They blamed "resources" (or lack of) for only having 1 scan now, but I would rather that than some of the ordinary appointments.
