hi, i am training to be a child psychotherapist and an invaluable part of the training is infant observation. it involves observing a mum and her baby interacting for one hour a week at home over a period of two years. i know its a big commitment but it is such an important part of the training. if anyone is interested then please email me at [email protected]. thank you and look forward to hearing from you.

What geographic area are you in Karen? That might narrow it down a bit!

Karenlever - I'm 26 weeks pg with my 3rd, an older mum at the ripe age of 40. This is a bit of a shock and has taken some getting used to! Have 2 others DS 10 and DD 6 ......... and live just up the road in Barnet. My due date is 7 Jan, but c/s likely for 17 Dec if of interest!

It might be worth contacting a health visitor local to you as she may be able to put you in touch with someone suitable.

when i had my daughter one of my new mum friends did this for a psych student and they were introduced by our health visitor

Have a look on the October ante-natal thread and see if there is anyone near you, perhaps?

You could try asking your local NCT group to publicise your request? My Tower Hamlets group has an online yahoo group so emails can be sent out to all local members and I've seen similar requests to yours being sent out on it.

Hi Karen, there's an NCT group for pregnant women and those with young babies that's just started up down the road from Golders Green at the O2 Centre on Finchley Road. They meet on Thursdays 10am-12noon at the Apostrophe cafe. I think there's a group on Belsize road on a Friday too.

Have a look here - maybe try the branch chair? They might be able to help generally too?
